Awards


2004	Artist-in-Residence - Led woodworking workshops for children and families struggling with cancer in the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Department of the Lombardi Cancer Center, Georgetown University Hospital Pediatric Oncology, Washington, DC. Many kinds of woods were used to create abstract forms, figures and creations. The final Art Exhibition took place in the Lombardi Atrium in December 2004.
2003	Washington Forrest Fellowship - Awarded $2000 to produce art at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Sweet Briar, Virginia. (www.vcca.com/cafritz.htm)
2002	Monetary Award - Won two categories in a 2" x 4" contest by the Washington Woodworkers Guild, Washington, D.C.
2002	Smithsonian History of Decorative Arts Masters Program - Selected to be interviewed by a graduate student to write a research paper on a contemporary Craftsperson/Artist of the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
2002	Capital Area Woodturners - Selected to be a woodturning demonstrator at the Renwick Gallery's "Woodturning Since 1930". See American Woodturner, The Journal of American Association of Woodturners, Fall 2002, (Vol. 17, No3) p11.
2002	Selected to turn a bowl from a fallen oak tree planted by George Washington. Bowls were used to raise money for Mt. Vernon in Alexandria, VA.
2002	Honorable Mention - Awarded by Regina DeLuise for "Resting" and "Epiphany" Sculptures, Capitol Hill Arts Workshop, Washington, DC.
2001	Fellowship - Juried into artist's residency to the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Sweet Briar, VA.
2001	Capital Area Woodturners Scholarship - Studied with Christian Burchard at the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts. Gatlinburg, TN.
